Shop Inventory Clerk

Position Summary

BLT Companies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Inventory Clerk to manage the flow of parts and materials for our in-house shop operations. This role is critical to maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring timely availability of parts, and supporting the efficiency of shop mechanics and technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies
  • Accurately log and track inventory using company systems
  • Organize, label, and store inventory in designated locations
  • Issue parts and supplies to shop personnel as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of outgoing inventory and usage
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate reordering needs to management
  • Assist with purchasing coordination and vendor communication as needed
  • Keep inventory areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in inventory control, warehouse, or shop environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and move materials (up to ~50 lbs)
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset

Work Environment

  • Shop and warehouse setting

We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Concrete Mixer Driver to join our growing team.

Position Summary

The Concrete Mixer Driver is responsible for safely operating a concrete mixer truck to deliver ready‑mix concrete to customer job sites. This position requires strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain positive communication with dispatch, customers, and coworkers. Drivers must ensure deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a concrete mixer truck in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
  • Load, transport, and deliver ready‑mix concrete to various job sites on a scheduled route.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; document and report any issues with the vehicle.
  • Ensure the proper mixing, slump, and quality of concrete before and during delivery.
  • Maneuver truck in tight or uneven areas, including construction sites with varying terrain.
  • Assist customers with safe pour placement as needed.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, tickets, and paperwork.
  • Clean mixer drum and truck exterior daily to meet company cleanliness standards.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding job status, delays, or issues.
  • Follow all safety regulations and wear required PPE.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement (Class A preferred).
  • Clean driving record meeting BLT Companies’ insurance requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (ready-mix experience preferred but not required).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat, dust, uneven terrain).
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience operating a concrete mixer truck.
  • Familiarity with local delivery routes and construction job site procedures.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for reporting equipment issues.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Early morning start times; overtime and Saturdays may be required based on workload.
  • Outdoor and field‑based work environment with exposure to weather and construction conditions.
